School Calendar
Below is a listing of important dates for the 2011/12 school year. We generally follow the schedule of the Northshore School District and observe all Northshore severe weather closures. However, in the event of emergency or weather events, it's always a good idea to call the school to see if we will be open before leaving your house.

Kenmore Stay & Play Drop In Care Center at our Kenmore Campus there is no registration fee for students enrolled in our preschool classes and you will receive a 10% discount for as long as your child is enrolled with us. The Stay & Play is open from 8am to 4pm M-F year round for children ages 2 to 7 years. You can make a reservation or drop in and children may stay and play for up to 4 hours per day (on the days your child attends preschool class, they may only stay for a total limit of 4 hours per day including their class time). September 1st Thurs. at 6:30-7:30pm, Parent Orientation at Morning Star School in the Saturn Room - adults & nursing infants only. Enter from the East (Bothell side) entrance only. Attendance is voluntary.

Kenmore September 17th Saturday from 11:00am to 12:30pm, Opening Party to be held at Morning Star School. Potluck lunch and activities for kids. We'll need donations and volunteers (sign ups sheets will posted in the lobbies). Enter from the West Valet Gate (Seattle side) only. This is your chance to mix and mingle with the children in your child's class and to meet their families.
Kenmore October 20th Thursday - Field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Check in at Pumpkin Patch will be 10:30am. Directions and more information will be provided as the date approaches (Kenmore Stay & Play Drop In Care is open)
Kenmore October 28th Fri. Comets Halloween Party during normal class time. Donation and volunteer requests will be posted in the lobby.
Kenmore October 31st Mon., Little Stars & Meteors Halloween Parties during normal class time. Donation and volunteer requests will be posted in the lobbies.
Kenmore In November, we'll need parent volunteers to help in class during the Meteor Prek evaluations. Meteor parent volunteers will attend the first 2 hours of class as classroom aids so that teachers can conduct skills testing individually with each student. Siblings may attend with parent volunteers. Sign up sheets for parent volunteers will be posted in the lobby or you can call or email in dates you are able to attend.
Kenmore November 11th Fri., Morning Star In-Service - school is closed. Please note that we do not follow Northshore School District in-service days and will be open for most of theirs. However, we still schedule a number of our own in-service days geared to our school’s schedule (Stay & Play Drop In Care is open).
Kenmore November 21st Mon., Little Stars & Meteor Student Photo Portraits by Vakkers Photography, - Parents may have their students and siblings portraits taken at school in time for the holidays. Class photos will be taken as well on this day that will include all children enrolled in the class ( if your child is not there, they will not appear in the class photo). Portraits are taken of only those children whose parents turn in an order form and payment directly to Vakkers on the day photos are taken. Class photos are only provided if they are ordered and paid for by parents.

Kenmore December - we would love to have parents share non-religious based family activities, special foods or music that they engage in for their family traditions. Bring a traditional holiday food for your child's class to enjoy during snack. Join us for circle time and introduce a game, play music or teach us a song. Please be sure to let your child's teacher know what your activity is and which day you would like to contribute.
Kenmore December 2 Fri., Children's Book Exchange, 6:30 to 8:00pm - the entire family is welcome to join us at the preschool for a fun filled evening. We will have sign ups for potluck desserts & juice. Coffee will be provided. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas and you will need to have every child, including siblings bring a gently used book from home that is gift wrapped. To top the evening off, the children will exchange their books as gifts to each other.
Kenmore December 19th through January 3rd Holiday break - school is closed, we will reopen on Wed. Jan. 4th (Stay & Play will be open for business M-F during the break with the exception of 12/24 & 12/25).

Kenmore March 16th Fri. snow make up day - Snow make up day for Little Stars & Meteors (all Meteors may attend - both 4 day and 5 day attendees)

Kenmore June 2nd Saturday, 11:00 to 12:30pm, graduation ceremony for Meteors, Graduating prek students and their families are invited to a grand finale to be held at the Kirkland Eagles. Extended family is welcome to attend. Lunch will be potluck.
Kenmore June 2nd Saturday, 1:30 to 3:30pm, All School End of the Year Party At the Northshore Gym in Woodinville, Attendance is limited to students, parents and siblings for all enrolled students.
Kenmore June 15th Friday, Last day of school (Stay & Play Drop In Care is open all summer with the exception of July 4th)
Kenmore 2012 Summer Camp will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays for 7 weeks. You can choosed to attend for all 7 weeks or for the weeks of your choice. (see the summer camp page on this website for dates and details)
Our Stay & Play will be open all summer and we welcome parents to make standing reservations or to drop in as you like from 8am to 4pm, Mon. through Fri. Be sure to get a registration form in and we'd love to see you there. There is no registration fee and you receive a 10% discount as long a your children are enrolled in our preschool program. We will be offering a Summer Camp program at our Woodinville Campus for interested parents.
woodinville Campus 2011/12 Calendar
Woodinville: Stay & Play Drop In Care Center at our Kenmore Campus Children 2 to 7 years of age may stay & play for up to 4hours per day from 8am to 4pm, M-F year round. There is no registration fee for students enrolled in our preschool classes at Woodinville and you will receive a 10% discount for as long as your child is enrolled with us.
